The Group
Our group, Lakeland Radiologists, Ltd. is currently recruiting for a full-time staff radiologist to join a 10 member single specialty group. This is a partner track position, with eligibility for partnership considered in two years and upon board certification. The group has a philosophy of sharing the work and the compensation equally and seeks the participation of all in decision-making.
The Practice
Our practice serves four core hospitals (Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital and Provena Covenant Medical Center) as well as reading films from multiple other sites over several counties. This provides for a service area of over 200,000 people. We offer the full range and depth of radiological services at the highest level of standards and quality. We practice with state-of-the-art equipment and top-notch ancillary personnel. The practice is progressive and dynamic with recent and continued growth in the facilities served, the services offered, and the volume of studies performed. The Communities
They offer suburban and rural lifestyles in pleasant east central Illinois locations. A wide variety of excellent and affordable housing and real estate exists in all communities. Both the primary and secondary schools are AAA rated. College-level education is available at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston and at Lakeland College in Mattoon. Effingham is at the 'crossroads' of two major Interstates, providing access and opportunities unusual in a city its size. the communities are family oriented with recreational activities such as: golf, tennis, horseback riding, water skiing, sailing, camping, canoeing, hiking, fishing, and hunting. Art, theater, athletic events, and historical sites are locally available as well. larger cities and regional transportation centers are easily accessible.
The Hospitals
A group member may perform services at any of the easily accessible core hospitals in Mattoon, Effingham, or Champaign, Illinois. However, each of the hospitals is provided with a team that provides services predominantly at a single hospital. Each of them is JCAHO approved facility and provides superior quality, comprehensive health care for its community. Each serves as a regional referral center for the surrounding counties and each has a history and a commitment to providing 'cutting edge' health care technology and services, including the areas of emergency and trauma care, advanced oncology services, level II obstetric and peri-natal facilities, progressive ambulatory surgery care, specialized orthopedics, skilled nursing units, and well-equipped ICU's and monitored care. This results in strong demand for and support of all imaging modalities, including invasive and interventional radiology, fixed base MRI units, mobile mammography units, and PET scanning capabilities.
The Package
The position is offered with a very attractive combination of salary and benefits:
- Salary - generous, above median annual salary for first two years, with potential for bonus
- Vacation - Eight weeks in the first year for recreational pursuits or CME attendance
- Health Insurance - the full major medical policy includes family coverage Dental Plan
- Medical Reimbursables - up to $5,000 annually
- Paid Malpractice Insurance - limits of liability at $2 million/$30 million
- Retirement Plan - a generous, self-directed plan is provided with corporate contribution in 2002 to the IRS maximum ($40,000). Upon eligibility, vesting is immediate.
- Disability Insurance Allowance - for up to $7,000 annual premium
- Automobile Allowance - up to $1,000 per month for business-car leasing
- Professional Expense Allowance - up to $5,000 annually for dues, licenses, CME, etc.
- Small Equipment - pagers, cell phones, and service are provided
- Tele-radiology Equipment - all necessary equipment, including home computer, are provided. This permits the reading of many films from home when on call.
- Moving Expenses - the successful candidate will be reimbursed for up to $5,000.
