Diagnostic Imaging Services

Our Radiologists

A radiologist is a licensed physician who specializes in interpreting and using various imaging techniques to diagnose (diagnostic radiology) and treat (interventional radiology) disease. These imaging techniques or modalities include ordinary x-rays, computerized x-rays (CT scans), radiopharmaceuticals (nuclear scans), ultrasound (sonograms) nuclear magnetic resonance (MRI scans), and positron emissions (PET scans).

A radiologist must obtain an undergraduate degree and then, like any physician, attend medical school. Following this, the doctor must complete at least four years of postgraduate training (residency) in radiology. At this point, if the physician passes a written and an oral exam, they become Board Certified as a specialist in radiology. Some radiologists concentrate on a particular subspecialty of radiology and may obtain additional postgraduate training (fellowship) in the subspecialty area.

All of our radiologists are Board Certified with the training and experience necessary to provide the highest level of patient services. Choose a doctor at left to view a brief summary of their educational backgrounds.
